New options expiration date generation rules |
The launch time of new options is 08:30 a.m. (UTC)
Only the two-day options, bi-weekly options, bi-monthly options, and bi-quarterly options will be generated. Options with longer duration will automatically be converted into options with shorter duration as the expiration date approaches. For example, bi-weekly options will be converted into weekly options and quarterly options will be converted into bi-monthly options.
When there are no overlap of expiration dates, the two-day options will be generated on a daily basis, the bi-weekly options will be generated every Friday, the bi-monthly options will be generated every third-last Friday of the month, and the bi-quarterly options will be generated every third-last Friday of the quarter.
When there are overlapping expiration dates, the existing options will be the options with different expiration dates at the same time, and will not be converted into new contracts. For example, two-day options will not be generated every Wednesday, as the weekly options are also two-day options. |
